Purple kitchen interior

Purple color in the design of the kitchen is not the most common design move. And all because many psychologists consider it difficult to perceive and negatively affect the psyche and emotional state of people. However, if it is this color that you want to see in the interior of your kitchen, then you should know a few simple rules that will help to fit such a heavy color into the interior so that the atmosphere of the room becomes both light, rich and interesting.

Violet color and interior style

The most suitable shades of violet for this purpose are lavender, red-violet, violet, purple, plum, blue-violet, amethyst and blackberry. Moreover, all these tones can be used in combination with each other or with other colors. It all depends on how you want to see your kitchen. If, for example, this is a trendy kitchen in the Art Nouveau or Art Deco style, then the combination of purple and white is ideal, and the neutrality of the latter allows you to combine it with both warm and cold shades of purple. For a gothic dark combination, dark gray, black or chocolate color is suitable, and for a rural country style, a muted amethyst shade will ideally fit into the combination of shades of natural stone and wood. Speaking about the style of the interior, one cannot but mention the fact that purple tones have long been considered the colors of the Russian aristocracy, and is the perfect color scheme to recreate the old elegant classic retro interior, which almost everyone associates with luxurious noble estates and country palaces.

How to apply purple color

When decorating using purple shades, it should be remembered that this color belongs to the cold palette, and in a dark room it will look gloomy and even a little depressing. To avoid this, the color should either be diluted correctly, or make it not primary, but accent. However, if the windows of the room face the southern or eastern sunny side, then all fears can be immediately eliminated and follow only your own taste preferences. Another important point is that the use of purple tones in large areas of the room visually conceal the space, making the room visually smaller. For this reason, you can not make the saturated shades of this color basic in a small room. Pure violet can only be used indoors with a large area.

How and with what to combine

The most optimal combinations of purple are the following combinations:

  • Purple and white

This combination can be used both in its pure form and be diluted with the color of natural dark wood and stone. Such a kitchen will look great in a studio apartment, where the kitchen area will be in dark colors, and the seating area with a sofa and a coffee table in bright ones. Pillow decor supporting the style of the kitchen will be appropriate here. An excellent solution for the kitchen will be the design of the kitchen using purple only as individual accents, in the form of a work wall and a dining area. Another great option is a kitchen with a distribution of colors on the lower and upper tiers of cabinets. Usually in such designs, the upper part of the kitchen is made light, and the bottom in more saturated colors.

  • Purple and black

With this combination, as a rule, they take lighter tones of violet color. There can be a huge number of solutions for such a design. It can be dark furniture and pale purple wall decoration, or a light kitchen with black accents and a dark floor. This combination can be diluted with white and gray, as well as other delicate shades of the same purple color. As bright accents, you can use lamps with colorful lampshades.

  • Violet with saturated colors

Violet color can be combined not only with neutral colors, but also with bright colors. Moreover, it can be caramel colors of natural wood or other rich shades, such as turquoise, purple and orange. When creating a kitchen in purple tones, it is very important not to overdo it with saturated elements so that all the details used in the design harmoniously combine with each other and create a general aesthetically-competent picture.
